I'm with you on this one. Although, I really wonder if their previous stonewalling was a strategy or if it just was someone in a meeting saying, "hey, what would happen if we just plain didn't vote? what could they do?"

Now that the dems are giggling over what they can get away with, it would seem we can expect more of the same. It will be interesting to see if they really are out of trump, or if they will be able to play the same record over and over cause noone knows how to shut off the turntable.

Right now all I can say is, thank God Kerry lost the election, because can you imagine "Justice Clinton"????

This, likely, is another Bush masterstroke in action. Although he probably had Rehnquist in mind for a Bush appointee, this is just frosting.

Actually, the Repbublicans were the main part of the problem. Even though Dems approved the overwhelming majority of judge appointees, the Reps were hardly satisfied.

Nancy, you're nuts. The Democrats are the ones using the filibuster....(which in plain English means "stonewalling") They have NOT approved Bush's appointees...they have even refused them a simple up or down "yes or no".....Go back and read up on it Nance....

"The Senate confirmed 173 of the president's judicial nominees, but three have been rejected by Democrats..."

It is also worth noting that of those three rejected, two were eventual recess appointments -- so in reality, the Dems blocked exactly ONE of Dubyas judicial appointments in his first four years as President.

He's turning the western hemisphere FACIST,.. can't you see that? It's all about money, not freedom or personel rights. How will you explain to the victims of "greed" that it was for the good of the nation and business.
