evacuation

If hurricane Frances DOES come, I'm not going anywhere. I have a solid house on high ground and I live 50 miles from the coast. I think I can handle high winds and heavy rain where I live. I don't have any big trees to fall on me and all of my shit is in the Crackerbox, so I'll stay here no matter what happens.

I can handle anything a hurricane throws at me right where I am. Unless a tornado or two come roaring down the road. If that happens, I'll experience an "oh, shit!" moment right before I go flying off to the land of Oz.

But I AM NOT evacuating.

I'll stick to my God Pounding earthquakes! They don't show up but once in a blue moon. God pounds his nails well, and often!

Well, living right outside of Savannah and knowing that all of Savannah could be under water in a Category 4 hurricane if the tide is just right (or wrong as the case may be), I think I'm gonna head west if they call for a mandatory evacuation. I hope Acidman's prediction is right!

Hang tough....and once you get to Oz, do forget to write.

"But I AM NOT evacuating "

. . . your house. :)

I never ran before, why start now, fuck it. I'm staying in Savannah.

Head to the Crackerbox, Beth!

Beth, Catfish and anybody else: if you want a good evacuation center, come to MY house.

If we're going to get blown away, let's get blown away from my liquor cabinet first. Then, if we fly off in the wind, we'll be riding in style.

If we do wind up in the close northeast quadrant, we've got a high tide, storm surge, and a bunch of rain to deal with all at the same time. It's gonna flood all the way to Pembroke......

First, it is my earnest prayer that if you do get hit, you are hit by the "Navigable Semicircle," at low tide. You have not stated yer actual elevation. I hope that you are up good and high. As to the stoutness of your house, I hope that you have good shutters, always remembering that the neighbor's flying trash can will come crashing through a 200-miles/hr shutter in a 100-miles/hr hurricane.

The experts say, and I think they are right,

"Run from the water, hide from the wind!"

damn it that was supposed to be don't forget to write. PIMF.

There are too many fine folks who appear to be in the path of this one. My thougts are with you all.

Mike, I'm a badass storm-guy. But if I lived on Tybee, I'd get the fuck out of there before the storm hit. Badass is ine thing... DUMBASS is another.

If you need a place to stay, just let me know.

My plans are still up in the air, but I do agree that Mike might want to head west immediately. And Mike is correct to in saying that it would flood all the way to Pembroke. My mom and dad (whom I don't live with) want to evacuate to Baxley, but there ain't shit to do there so I am pushing for a town with a little more entertainment. If we do have to evacuate to some rinky dink town, I will be taking lotsa liquor and a good book to get thru the weekend.

I didn't think people 50 miles off the coast even considered evacuating.

Key, 50 miles is not that far if it the strorm is a cat 4 or 5. Remember what Andrew and Hugo did. Rob is probably fairly safe, might be without electricity for a while if it gets really bad. My money says Orlando will have a new theme park after this,
